Matthew Weir is an associate in the firm’s Corporate practice group and assists public and private companies, private equity funds, real estate investment trusts and financial institutions in a range of corporate and commercial transactions. His practice includes counseling clients on issues involving mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation and compliance, corporate formation, private equity, corporate finance and general corporate and commercial matters.

Matthew represents buyers and sellers in stock, asset, merger and joint venture transactions in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, transportation, insurance, manufacturing, and technology services.

Matthew also reviews and negotiates a wide range of commercial contracts, including contracts involving software-as-a-service, the purchase and sale of equipment and the licensing of intellectual property.

Prior to joining Kelley Drye, Matthew served as judicial intern to the Honorable John M. Guidry, of the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal, and judicial intern to the Honorable Brian A. Jackson, of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana.
