Julia Schuurman is an associate with the firm’s Litigation group. Julia’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation matters, particularly involving fraud and emerging contaminants. Her litigation experience involves pretrial procedure and discovery, electronic discovery, briefing motions, hearings, and appellate practice. Julia has experience representing individuals, corporate clients, and state agencies.

Julia is currently serving on the team representing the State of Maryland and all State agencies in bringing claims for costs and damages resulting from the DALI’s allision with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in the Port of Baltimore in March 2024.

Prior to joining Kelley Drye, Julia was a legal intern with the New York City Loft Board, an extern with NYU Law’s Policing Project, and a student of NYU Law’s Racial Justice Clinic. Julia was also an active member of NYU Law’s Canadian Law Organization and Student Advocates for Empowerment through Harm Reduction (S.A.F.E.R.).
