Ashley Czechowski is a senior litigation associate whose practice focuses on all aspects of complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts. While representing individuals, investment banks, and public companies, Ashley has successfully briefed motions at all stages of litigation, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment and motions for temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions, among others. Ashley also has successfully represented clients in commercial real estate arbitrations in New York.
Ashley maintains an active and robust pro bono practice and has worked with many pro bono organizations to achieve successful outcomes for her clients. Ashley has represented clients on a pro bono basis in divorce proceedings, immigration matters, landlord/tenant disputes, family court proceedings, among other various limited-scope representations. Notably, she represented the League of Women Voters before the United States Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in major voting rights litigation. In 2022, Ashley received the Pro Bono Publico Award, an annual award given by The Legal Aid Society to volunteer lawyers, law firms, corporations, and other professionals who have volunteered their time and talent to provide exceptional legal services to low-income New Yorkers. Ashley also served as an Associate Advisor on the Associate Advisory Board for Legal Services NYC from 2021 to 2023.
Prior to joining Kelley Drye, Ashley worked at a large New York City law firm. Prior to that, Ashley served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lisa M. Smith (ret.) in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York from 2017 to 2019. During that time, Ashley received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the District Clerk.
During law school, Ashley received the Judge Matthew J. Jasen Appellate Practice Award, Gerard O’Brien Trial Advocacy Award/Scholarship, the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Legal Analysis, Writing and Research II. She was also a finalist in the National Ethics Trial Competition and a semi-finalist in the Desmond Moot Court Competition.
