Opinion: SIMP Expansion Coming From Unexpected Source

An editorial by David Frulla and Jennifer McCadney has been featured in Undercurrent News. The article discusses the expansion of the Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP), which imposes detailed traceability requirements for about half of the nation’s seafood imports.

Efforts are underway in Congress to expand SIMP and take other measures to combat illegal unreported and unregulated fishing, as well as forced and trafficked labor in fisheries around the world.
