Kelley Drye Promotes Four to Special Counsel
Firm promotes four attorneys to special counsel, elects four new partners
Kelley Drye & Warren LLP is pleased to announce the promotion of four attorneys to special counsel and the election of four new partners. Maeghan J. McLoughlin, Sandra M. Rodriguez, Lana Rowenko, and James B. Saylor will begin their role as special counsel effective July 1, 2021.
In addition to the new special counsel, Levi M. Downing, Donnelly L. McDowell, Anne-Marie Mitchell, and Bezalel A. Stern were elected as new partners in the firm.

Maeghan McLoughlin (New York – Bankruptcy and Restructuring):
Maeghan’s practice encompasses all stages of the commercial bankruptcy process, having represented debtors, creditors’ committees, trustees, receivers, secured lenders, and landlords in various bankruptcy proceedings. Her practice is focused on the retail and restaurant industries, but spans countless others. Maeghan also serves as a board member in the New York chapter of the “International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation,” an international professional association for women in all disciplines of insolvency and restructuring. She is admitted to practice in New York.
Sandra Rodriguez (New Jersey – Real Estate):
Sandra focuses her practice on commercial real estate transactions. She has extensive experience representing institutional lenders and investment banks in connection with the origination and securitization of commercial mortgage and mezzanine loans. She has handled mortgage loan originations secured by all types of property classes, including retail, office, hotel, and multifamily, representing investment banks, commercial mortgage-backed securities lenders, insurance companies, and private equity lenders. Sandra also advises on the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate, as well as the restructuring and workout of troubled loans and foreclosures. Sandra is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.
Lana Rowenko (Houston – Environmental):
Lana’s practice focuses on environmental litigation, as well as commercial litigation. Her environmental practice includes representing states and sovereigns in complex environmental litigation involving natural resource damages, recovery under federal and state environmental statutes, and damages arising under state tort law. She also has experience representing companies before state administrative bodies related to environmental permitting. She is admitted to practice in New York and Texas.
James Saylor (New York – Litigation):
James manages complex litigations and arbitrations for a diverse breadth of firm clients, including national brick and mortar and online retailers, internationally-recognized brands, tech start-ups, entertainment companies, and international contractors, among many others. A substantial portion of James’ practice involves the defense of consumer class actions under various state and federal laws regulating deceptive trade practices and telemarketing. He has acted as lead associate on teams that obtained dismissal with prejudice of several class actions at the pleading stage, and successfully defended those dismissals on appeal. James also provides counseling to major corporations facing issues in advertising and represented such corporations before private regulatory bodies. He is admitted to practice in New York.
