Kelley Drye Environmental Practice Recognized by Law360 as a Practice Group of the Year for 2023
Kelley Drye today announced that the firm’s Environmental Practice Group has been named a 2023 Environmental Practice Group of the Year by Law360. The awards, now in their 14th year, honor the attorney teams behind litigation wins and major deals that resonated throughout the legal industry this past year.
“We are honored to have been named a Practice Group of the Year, by Law360,” said Bill Jackson, co-chair of the Environmental Practice. “This award recognizes the tireless efforts of our attorneys in representing 15 states, three U.S. territories, the District of Columbia, and more than 75 public and private drinking-water providers in active environmental matters across the country.”
Detailing why the firm was chosen, Law360 highlighted that over the past year, Kelley Drye attorneys have helped Guam wrestle tens of millions of dollars in environmental cleanup costs from the federal government, worked on two multibillion-dollar settlements to resolve per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) “forever chemicals” pollution claims, and assisted New Jersey in obtaining hundreds of millions of dollars.
Building on this, Kelley Drye continues to be active in additional cutting-edge environmental matters, especially with its emphasis on both litigation and regulatory matters.
“We represent several significant industry groups providing comments on a variety of proposed rules,” said Jackson. “So I think that that has been a tremendous strength of the firm.”
The firm’s environmental practice group boasts a team of attorneys in Texas, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., and California, and has more than tripled in size over the past seven years.
