John Villafranco Quoted in Corporate Counsel Online Regarding GOP Assertions of Chair Lina Khan

Corporate Counsel Online reached out to Partner John Villafranco for comment regarding the views from the two Republicans on the five-member Federal Trade Commission with respect to Chair Lina Khan’s leadership.

“The pushback doesn’t change what the commission is going to do. But I think it does make staff and the majority button things up a bit more,” said Villafranco.

“I believe the FTC staff appreciates getting the hard questions and concerns from the minority commissioners because it helps them put together a stronger case. Commissioner Ferguson’s statement is helpful to Congress to keep an eye on what the FTC is doing and maybe inspires more companies to push back and see if the FTC will really bring some of its boundary-pushing theories in court,” he added.
