Women At KDW Launches New York City Bar Workshop Series

May 27, 2013

On May 16, the 27th floor of the New York office was buzzing with activity as 25 undergraduate and recent graduate women met with Kelley Drye women associates and partners for a Resume and Interview Workshop. This was the second in a six-part series entitled Launching your Career: Professional Development & Networking Series for Undergraduate and Recent Graduate Women,” held under the auspices of the New York City Bar’s Diversity Pipeline Initiatives. This newly created series had its genesis when Women At KDW decided to reach out to the New York City Bar to collaborate on its annual service event. The City Bar had originally considered a one-time event for undergraduate students. However, after Women At KDW’s initiative, various other New York law firms expressed interest in offering related programming and as a result, the workshop series was born. The series kicked off at the New York City Bar on May 8, with an introductory presentation made by Kelly Hoey, a business strategist, regarding brandbuilding and networking. Kelley Drye was the first firm in the series to host one of the five follow-up workshops.

Women At KDW’s Resume and Interview Workshop was a resounding success with all the participants looking forward to next year’s annual service event. Women At KDW is co-chaired by Jennifer D. Raviele and Jaclyn M. Metzinger. This year’s service event volunteer was Nancy M. Lopez. Women At KDW extends special thanks to Venetta Amory, Diversity Director, Cali Mazzarella, Legal Personnel Manager and Jeanne Wessely, Facilities Manager.
